Meet Our Attorneys
why clients choose us

Five things that define how we work.

Clark Allison has been doing California estate planning for thirty years. The process is straightforward, reliable, and finished quickly, without the attorney runaround and without the gaps you get from a DIY plan.

Our attorneys have prepared thousands of California estate plans. Estate planning and trust administration is the only thing this firm does.

You work with one attorney through the entire engagement. No handoff to a paralegal. No junior associate doing the drafting. Same attorney on the first call, the planning meeting, the document review, and the signing. And for your questions after.

Most California firms take six weeks or longer. Our complete plans finish in about three weeks. Complex plans take a little longer, but still get done quickly because estate planning is all we do.

$3,000 single, $4,000 married for most California estate plans. Covers the complete plan. No billable hours, no surprise invoices for phone calls. Once you are a client, follow-up questions are free.

Bay Area, Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County, Inland Empire, Central Coast, Sacramento Valley, North Coast, Central Valley. We work with families in every region of the state. No driving, no traffic.

HOW IT WORKS

Three Steps. About Three Weeks.

Most California families finish their virtual estate plan in about three weeks. Two attorney Zoom meetings and a remote online notary session.

01

Free Attorney Intro Call

Fifteen minutes. You tell us what you have and what you want. We answer your questions and let you know what we recommend, how long it will take, and what it will cost. If we are a fit, we schedule your first planning meeting.

02

Two Zoom Attorney Meetings

The first meeting is the design meeting. We walk through your family, your assets, who you want to take care of, and who you trust to handle things if you cannot. We draft your documents. About one to two weeks later we meet again on Zoom to review your documents and make sure they are correct and you understand them.

03

Sign and Notarize

You sign every document from your home on video with a notary authorized for remote online notarization. The signing takes about 30 minutes.

LA Traffic
WHO CHOOSES VIRTUAL

Many of our clients

Bay Area professionals who do not want to spend half a day driving into the city to meet a lawyer.

Los Angeles families who would rather not lose half a day to LA traffic for a lawyer meeting.

San Diego families who would rather meet from their living room.

Central Coast residents in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Monterey who would rather meet from home than drive to a law office.

Sacramento clients who could drive to our El Dorado Hills or Roseville office but would rather not.

Virtual works best when your situation is straightforward. More complicated plans are often better handled in person. If that's you and you're in the Sacramento region, we'll meet you at our El Dorado Hills or Roseville office.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. California recognizes electronic signatures on most estate planning documents, and the California Civil Code recognizes notarizations performed by authorized out-of-state remote online notaries. Your signed and notarized documents are valid in California.

About three weeks from the first planning meeting to signing. Scheduling conflicts and complex plans can push out the timeline.

One of our attorneys works with you from the first meeting through the design of your plan, the drafting and review of your documents, and your follow-up questions and updates over the years.

For most California families, $3,000 for a single person or $4,000 for a married couple. That is the full plan, including the trust transfer deed for your home. More involved plans cost more, and we quote the flat fee before any work begins.

You can call or email your attorney with questions about your plan, free, for as long as we are your firm. Most of our clients reach out every few years to check in.

Older clients, some blended families, and special needs planning are sometimes better handled in person. If you are in the Sacramento region, we can meet you at our El Dorado Hills or Roseville office.

You are welcome at our El Dorado Hills or Roseville office. Sacramento, El Dorado County, and Placer County families can choose either way. For families elsewhere in the state, virtual is the practical option, and it is how most of our clients work with us.

Let's finish your estate plan.
